Brand-new textbooks can cost you a fortune but it’s really difficult to find cheap yet high quality second-hand textbooks. Never fear, SciSoc is here!
The SciSoc Bookstore is a not-for-profit organisation run by students for students, so you know that the lowest cost and friendliest service are both guaranteed!
At the SciSoc Bookstore, we facilitate the exchange of textbooks for current science units of study between students. Senior students deposit their textbooks and we sell these on their behalf at a fair price. Our team will also be able to provide advice on the courses you are taking and help you make the choice on relevant and prescribed textbooks.
It’s easy! Just dropped by the SciSoc Bookstore and have a browse!
Buying Books
See below for location and opening hours.
An online catalogue is coming soon to make buying books even easier!
1. Bring your used science textbook into the SciSoc Bookstore and set a fair price (say $x) based on its usability, condition and original price.
2. SciSoc adds a small admin fee between $5-$10 (say $y).
3. Over the next 12 months, SciSoc will try to sell the book on your behalf at $(x + y).
4. If the textbook is sold, a cheque for $x will be mailed to you. Otherwise, the textbook will be returned to you.
